Daash vs Runna: two ways to get a plan on your Garmin

4 min read · Updated 26 Oct 2026

Runna and Daash both end with structured sessions on your Garmin. Runna is a dedicated coaching app that decides your plan. Daash plugs your Garmin into Claude or ChatGPT, so the plan comes out of a conversation with an assistant that can see your actual training.

Daash is ours, so weigh this accordingly. Runna prices were checked in October 2026 and vary by country.

When Runna is the better pick

If you want to be told exactly what to do, in a beautiful app, without thinking about it, Runna is excellent. It also works across watch brands, and the Strava bundle is good value if you pay for Strava anyway.

When Daash is the better pick

If you’d rather understand your training and steer it, Daash suits you better. The assistant reads your splits, heart rate, sleep and HRV, explains its reasoning, and changes the week when life changes, all by asking. And it’s free.

Questions

Is there a free alternative to Runna for Garmin?

Garmin Coach is free inside Garmin Connect. Daash is free too: it lets Claude or ChatGPT build a plan from your Garmin data and put each session on your watch. With ChatGPT you need a paid plan to add a custom connector; free Claude works.

Does Runna work with Garmin?

Yes. Runna syncs its workouts to Garmin watches, as well as Apple Watch, COROS and others.

Can Daash use my sleep and HRV when planning?

Yes. Claude or ChatGPT reads your sleep, HRV, Body Battery and training load through Daash, so it can ease a session off after a bad night or suggest moving a hard day.
