Can I connect Garmin to ChatGPT or Claude?

2 min read · Updated 27 Oct 2026

Yes, both. Neither can see Garmin Connect on its own, but a connector links them. Daash is one: free, hosted (nothing to install) and open source. Add it once, sign in to Garmin, and the assistant reads your runs, splits, sleep, HRV and recovery, and writes workouts and whole training plans onto your Garmin calendar, so they’re on your watch at the next sync.

In Claude: Customize, then Connectors, then + and Add custom connector (on the phone, the + by the message box). Paste https://mcp.garmin.daash.run/mcp, connect, and sign in to Garmin. The Claude guide has each screen.

What you can ask

  • “How’s my training going?” draws your week as a card in the chat.
  • “Build me a plan for the half marathon on 12 April and put it on my Garmin.”
  • “Am I recovered enough for intervals today?”
  • “How did my last run go?”

Questions

Can I connect Garmin to ChatGPT?

Yes. Add Daash as a custom MCP server in ChatGPT (Plugins, on a computer, on a paid plan), sign in to Garmin, and ChatGPT can read your training and put workouts on your watch. It then works in the ChatGPT phone app too.

Can I connect Garmin to Claude?

Yes, including on a free Claude account. Add Daash under Claude's connectors, sign in to Garmin, and Claude can read your training and put workouts on your watch, on phone or computer.

Can I use both?

Yes. Add Daash to each and sign in to Garmin in each. Workouts either one creates land on the same Garmin calendar.

Is it free and safe?

Daash is free, hosted (nothing to install) and open source under the MIT licence. You can sign in on Garmin's own page so your password never reaches Daash, and disconnecting deletes what it keeps. It's independent and not affiliated with Garmin.
